AZ31B magnesium-based alloy is forged, has good room temperature strength and ductility, and corrosion resistance and weldability. Followed by strain hardening and annealing section (H24 and H26 temper), can improve the strength. The size range of our plates is:
Sheet: a thickness of from 0.5mm to 6mm; maximum width of 600mm; the maximum length of 6000mm
Plate: a thickness of from 6 mm to 200 mm; maximum width of 2000mm; maximum length of 6000mm
Block: We can provide pre-cut according to customer requirements.

APPLICATIONS

The AZ31B sheets and plates may be used below the temperature of 150 ° C moderate strength applications. AZ31B can make lightweight aerospace, aircraft, concrete tools, 3C (mobile phone / camera / computer), the speaker cone and textile machinery and other uses will benefit.

AZ31B is non-magnetic, has high electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity, to meet the requirements of the electronics and computer industries RFI and EMI shielding.

Superplastic forming at a high temperature of AZ31B sheet material, can produce a variety of complex parts for automobiles. Forming a sheet using a single shell structure may be suitable for many commercial applications.

Solderability

Use AZ61A (preferred) or AZ92A gas shielded arc welding filler having excellent weldability; post weld stress relief is required, in order to prevent stress corrosion cracking. Very good resistance welding.

MACHINING

Like all the same magnesium alloy sheet, AZ31B processing speed faster than any other metal. As long as the part geometry allows the limiting factor is the power and speed of the machine, rather than the mass of the tool material. The different processing operations, required power per cubic centimeter metal removal ranged from 9 Watts to 14 Watts per minute.

For weight, AZ31B-H24 at moderate energy level dent resistance has been proved superior to competitive materials.

Surface treatment
All conventional chromate treatment, anodizing, plating and finishing process are readily applied. AZ31B plasma electrolytic oxidation reaction process is also good.
