AZ31B magnesium-based alloy is forged, has good room temperature strength and ductility, and corrosion resistance and weldability. Followed by strain hardening and annealing section (H24 and H26 temper), can improve the strength. The size range of our plates is:
Sheet: a thickness of from 0.5mm to 6mm; maximum width of 600mm; the maximum length of 6000mm
Plate: a thickness of from 6 mm to 200 mm; maximum width of 2000mm; maximum length of 6000mm
Block: We can provide pre-cut according to customer requirements.
Sheet and plate in AZ31B find application in medium strength service at temperatures below 150°C. Diverse uses including aerospace, aircraft, concrete tools, 3C (cell phone / camera / computer), speaker cones and textile machinery can all benefit from light weight AZ31B.
AZ31B is non-magnetic and has a high electrical and thermal conductivity, RFI and EMI shielding filled in the electronics and computer industry requirements.
Superplastic forming of AZ31B sheet at elevated temperatures allows production of a wide variety of intricate parts for automotive uses. Monocoque construction utilizing formed sheet can be adapted to many commercial applications.

The sheet and plate shall conform to the tensile requirements in above Table unless other agreement is made between seller and purchaser. Mechanical Properties for sizes and tempers not shown in above Table shall be as agreed upon by seller and purchaser.

Excellent weldability with gas shielded arc using AZ61A (preferred) or AZ92A filler rod; post weld stress relief is required to prevent stress corrosion cracking. Resistance welding is excellent.
Like all the same magnesium alloy sheet, AZ31B processing speed faster than any other metal. As long as the part geometry allows the limiting factor is the power and speed of the machine, rather than the mass of the tool material. The different processing operations, required power per cubic centimeter metal removal ranged from 9 Watts to 14 Watts per minute.
Weight for weight, AZ31B-H24 has proven to be superior to competitive materials in its resistance to denting at moderate energy levels.

Magnesium mold plates are non-magnetic and have high electrical and thermal conductivity, which can meet the requirements of many materials in the electronics and computer industries.
